//WEEKLY SANNE

Since arriving at Dior in 2012, Raf Simons has been on a mission to make the historic fashion house contemporary. Last week, on Monday 26th of January, Dior showed his couture collection in Paris at the Rodin Museum. The show was a very new Dior vanity and Raf Simons succeeded in showing a completely modern couture collection. The luxurious techniques of the Dior house next to Simon’s own creative aesthetics made the collection exciting and thrilling.

A-line shaped dresses combined with legging or ankle boots made of latex and Perspex heels. Stripes from embroidered sequence, technical colored knits to fragile silk ribbons on voluminous skirts with an airy lightness. Bodysuits in jacquard jersey knits or tattoo embroidered details on silk. And the most non-couture material, plastic. Printed with organic shapes and flowers. The clothes were a stormy layering of past and present, with a 1960s atmosphere of the 21st century.

From the materials to the graphic silhouettes to the color range, it was sublime!
