//NICK MAUSS
This week we’d like to introduce you to Nick Mauss. Nick Mauss lives and works in NYC and Berlin. Mauss is a multi-disciplinary artist who makes drawings, paintings, sculpture and performance art. Throughout his practice, drawing offers a form of guidance to him and to his audience. As he self says: “Drawing is the underlying process for what I do, and in its variety, allows me to work in forms that fall between categories”. Within his work he uses a wide variety of material, from ink, watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, gouache to charcoal. Using various materials on not only paper but also on glazed ceramics and aluminum leaf panels, create an intriguing mix on display. Interesting in Mauss his works are the ways he let’s the materials work together but also let them wrench a bit. Leaving blank spaces to be filled in for the viewer, his work create a certain light and mysterious vibe. A vibe we dig.
